Panasonic EW3152W

The Panasonic EW3152W Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor is a great choice for those who may have a hard time wrapping a traditional cuff around their arm.  This monitor makes it really easy to just rest it on a table and slide your arm through.   You’ll be able to rest your elbow and stabilize your arm so that the monitor can get an accurate reading a lot easier.  It’s also keeps a log of all your previous measurements so that you can track them over time.  Panasonic has a good reputation in these devices as well.

Where To Buy?

I highly recommend buying it from Amazon.com (check current discounted price) because you can usually save anywhere from 30%-40%.  You also can have it shipped to you for free, which is really nice.  I’ve also had a hard time finding this monitor in local stores, just like many other quality monitors.  Amazon has great customer service and plenty of people have already bought this model from them.

How Accurate Is It?

For this blood pressure monitor, it’s important that you not move during the reading.  Because of this, they have a body movement detector which is super helpful to eliminate inaccurate readings.  If it detects movement, you’ll see a light that will alert you.  As far as the accuracy after the reading, many users have been impressed with it as its very close to what you’d find in a doctor’s office.

It uses a technology called DFT, or Digital Filter Technology, which uses a sensor to isolate the essential pulse oscillation.  This is important to eliminate other factors and noise that can yield in accurate results.

How Many Readings Does It Hold?

It records 180 separate readings, which is more than enough to help you see the trend in your blood pressure levels.   You can also split the 180 between two different people with the Panasonic EW3152W’s Two User Mode.   It’ll keep the measurements completely separate for you.  There is no way to upload your data automatically, in case that’s a feature that you are looking for.

Cuff Size

The cuff size on the Panasonic EW3152W ranges from 7.75″ to 13.25″.  However, it can fit arms up to 15.75″.  So, it’s built to be able to fit most larger arms inside of the cuff.  If you have an arm size that may be larger, you may want a monitor that has a larger manual wrap.

User Reviews

On Amazon.com, nearly 50 different reviewers have given the Panasonic EW3152W 4.4/5 star average rating.  If 50 people left reviews (read them all here), then you know that many more have bought it from Amazon.  Here are some re-written pros and cons from the reviews:

“I brought this device to my doctors office to compare how accurate it was to their blood pressure monitor, and it was remarkably spot on”

“We like that it’s a nice and sturdy product.  It feels very well made.  My husband usually has a hard time with the straps of over blood pressure monitors, so this device made it much easier for him.”

“Takes the guess work out of positioning my arm for an accurate reading!”

“Great device, but it isn’t very portable.”

“We had to use it several times for it started becoming consistent with the readings.  We’re not sure if this is our fault or the devices”

If you don’t want to fuss around with straps and incorrect arm positioning, then you need to consider the Panasonic EW3152W Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor.  It’s pretty affordable for what you get.
